Sustainable Development

Sustainability is one of the key challenges that we face, as individuals, businesses and as a nation.  Sustainable development requires that the three key elements – economics, social issues and the environment – are kept in balance.

Sustainability issues with which EPR has been involved in the last 2 years include:

  • the need for heritage building
  • reduction of carbon emissions and the concept of zero carbon homes
  • the impact of economic migrants and refugees on UK society and their needs in terms of training and employment
  • a 25 year strategic review for a water supply company covering resources, environmental issues and operational aspects
  • a survey for a farm shop among local residents to assess the impact of the inclusion of a butcher's shop at the premises. Results showed that that this had enhanced the customer experience, reduced distances travelled when shopping and encouraged walking and use of bicycles
